History

The history of IACES began in Karlsruhe in 2006, when the commitment of Frederic Evers led to the recognition of IACES as a university group at the University of Karlsruhe. In 2007 the foundation of the association and the attainment of non-profit status followed. In the same year, the first international exchange was organized together with the Local Committees from Berlin, Darmstadt and Wuppertal.
In April 2011 the registration as an association took place.
Since then local activities have been undertaken regularly, members from Karlsruhe take part in international exchanges and the aim is to host an international exchange again soon.
