What's IACES?

What is IACES?

The International Association of Civil Engineering Students is an international association of students of civil engineering. IACES was founded in 1989 in Delft (NL) and currently consists of approximately 50 Local Committees. A Local Committee was founded by at least 3 students of a university and offers various activities for its members.

Who are we?

We are the Local Committee from Karlsruhe and consist of civil engineering students of all semesters from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences. At present about 30 members are involved.

What do we do and what are our goals?

We organize activities on a local level, i.e. we undertake excursions to construction sites, to manufacturers of construction machinery, to construction companies, etc. On site we have the opportunity to project the material learned in the lecture onto the practice.

Every member has the opportunity to participate in international exchanges and to establish contacts with foreign students of civil engineering.
