Exchanges
An Exchange is a meeting of civil engineering students from all over the world by invitation of a local committee. Usually they last a week and offer a technical part, which is shaped by lectures as well as by practical insights, e.g. by construction site tours. In addition to the technical part, there is always a cultural programme on the agenda to give students from all over the world an insight into the local culture and to promote social interaction.
Once a year an ACCESS (Academic Congress of Civil Engineering Students) takes place. This is a special exchange, because besides the professional and cultural aspects, elections for the General Board take place. The General Board is the executive committee of the umbrella organization of all Local Committees worldwide.
In April 2025, we visited LC Lyon, explored the city, enjoyed great international encounters, culinary highlights and exciting insights during an unforgettable excursion.

ACCESS 2024 in Lisbon brought together over 100 participants from 17 LCs. Highlights included workshops city tours the General Assembly a construction site visit a surf lesson and a boat trip.

The Mid-Term Meeting in Thessaloniki brought together members from many countries for workshops the General Assembly and the International Night. From December 6th to 10th LC Lyon invited LC Porto and our team to an unforgettable LC meets LC event. Highlights included construction site visits a seminar on fire protection and the magical Festival of Lights “La Fête des Lumières”. City tours raclette wine tastings and traditional Bouchon cuisine made the experience complete..

From October 8th to 15th LC METU hosted the General Assembly in Ankara. Over 70 participants elected the new General Board and chose Lisbon as the next ACCESS location. Besides the GA sessions we explored the city enjoyed Turkish food and celebrated together.

From May 28th to June 2nd LC Delft hosted a small but special event with city games a construction site visit at the “Blankenburgverbinding” and a trip to Amsterdam. The highlight was a boat tour through the canals of Delft.

From April 23rd to 30th the MTM took place in Belgrade – a week full of workshops sightseeing and parties. Highlights included the Saint Sava Cathedral a day trip to Novi Sad and the legendary International Night.
