Exkursionsbericht zum internationalen Event in Kairo

In December 2024 a team of four from our LC travelled to Cairo to take part in an international event. The week was full of exciting encounters cultural highlights and lots of new impressions.

A key part of the program were the LC presentations where teams from different countries shared their projects and experiences. It was really interesting to see how different the approaches are in each region. We also got a lot of inspiration and new ideas that we might be able to use at home. Another highlight was the International Night where every group brought specialties from their home country. The atmosphere was great and it was a fun way to get to know each other better.

Besides the official program we also had plenty of time to explore the city. Visiting the Pyramids of Giza was definitely a highlight. They’re even more impressive in real life than in pictures. Some of us also tried a camel ride which definitely led to some funny memories. In the evening we enjoyed a traditional Bedouin dinner and ended the day in a relaxed way.

Another highlight was the walk through Old Cairo. The narrow streets lively markets and historic buildings gave us a great sense of the city’s history. And of course we couldn’t leave without eating at Koshary Abo Tarek one of Cairo’s most famous spots.

At the end of the week there were two quieter activities. A walk through Al-Azhar Park a green oasis in the middle of the city and an evening boat trip on the Nile where we reflected on everything we had experienced during the week.

For us the week in Cairo was a truly special experience. We learned a lot got new perspectives and discovered an impressive culture. The memories and moments we shared will definitely stay with us for a long time.
