Excursions
Our recent excursions
An excursion is a technical visit of a building site, construction machine manufacturer, building material suppliers or similar. It usually lasts one day and gives an insight into the practical fields of work of a civil engineer, allowing us to see the knowledge conveyed in the lectures in action.
Each semester, one or two such excursions are organised by the board or members themselves.

On 10 December, we visited Putzmeister Group with their 3D concrete printer KARLOS and STRABAG, where we watched a test run.

On 5 November 2024, we visited the Goldbeck plant in Vöhringen and gained exciting insights into production, logistics and sustainability. A big thank-you to Goldbeck for the interesting tour!

On July 10th 2024 we visited the W2 Campus construction site in Vaihingen and joined the summer party of the BIMCluster BW. We got exciting insights into construction processes listened to talks on digitalisation and AI and ended the day with a relaxed BBQ.

On November 27th and 30th 2023 we visited the Peek & Cloppenburg construction site. Thanks to the dedicated site managers we got exciting insights into planning construction techniques and workflows.

On July 13th twenty members visited the impressive construction site of the new train station hall. The highlight was getting a close look at the complex column structures followed by a shared meal at a beer garden.
